This is the first release British quad film poster from 1963 for the black and white comedy film “Carry on Cabby” rated as one of the most collectible of the ‘Carry On’ films and based on the little known script written by Talbot Rothwell titled “Call me a cab”. Producer Peter Rogers enlisted Rothwell into his company and went on to write the next nineteen films in the series. This film poster is from the Sunday April 21st 1963 showing and pictures the “Glamcabs” taxi with Liz Fraser as Sally offering the Glamcabs salute and looking very sexily attired in the uniform perched on the bonnet of the Ford Consul taxi. “Carry on Cabby” chronicles the battle between Speedeetaxis and Glamcabs with Sid James pitted against Hattie Jaques. Great film, great poster with fantastic day-glo appeal that cannot be missed and the film “Summer Holiday” made the previous year would have been a great double-bill to go to. A rare film poster in folded condition with three very minimal vertical fold lines and will be sent rolled in a sturdy tube.
