Detroit, Michigan
This twilight view of downtown Detroit was taken by James Blakeway. Located on the northwest shore of the Detroit River between Lake Erie and Lake Saint Clair, Detroit is the busiest inland waterway in the world and receives freighters from more than 100 world ports. Pictured on the far right is Detroit’s tallest building, the 73-story Detroit Marriott hotel, which is one of seven interconnected skyscrapers that comprise the GM Renaissance Center complex. The round building centered is Cobo Arena. It is part of Cobo Center complex, which hosts the North American International Auto Show. Moving left is Joe Louis Arena, home to the Detroit Red Wings hockey team.
