Terrific artwork on this 1960 film poster picturing the night time illuminated street scene in Soho, London. The goings on behind the wall are revealed by the artist with a tantalising full length painting of Jill Ireland performing her striptease on the cat walk in the “Adam & Eve” club. On the floor above we can see two robbers drilling open the safe in search of the clubs takings. Terrific detail including “H. Cozens the tailor” shop sign and a couple talking on the pavement. Really strong atmospheric use of colour printed in England by Stafford & Co. of Netherfield, Nottingham and London. Great folded condition with no pinholes. This poster survived censorship and a short section of the strip tease was pulled before the granting of the certificate. This British poster found its way to a cinema in Denhaag and there is a stamp on reverse together with a censor stamp at the top right.
