This vintage classic takes you back to 1987, when the long-suffering Cleveland fans were taken to within inches of a Super Bowl appearance after a spectacular regular-season, a divisional-round win over the Colts, and the famous AFC Championship Game against the Denver Broncos. This amazing poster features the great Kevin Mack, who entered the NFL as UPI Rookie of the Year in 1985, and was one of the most respected backs in the game for years afterwards. As with all posters in the “White Border” Sports Illustrated design that spanned the years 1978-1987, this one features the best of Sports Illustrated photography, the iconic white-bordered layout, and a facsimile signature from the player himself as part of the design! As with many of the 1986-87 releases in the series, this one has the added bonus of the team’s official team helmet logo in the top-right border.

This particular poster was obtained as part of our “Toledo Collection”, obtained from a collector in Ohio who preserved his large collection of old 1980s Sports Illustrated posters flat, never displayed on the wall, and virtually untouched since purchasing them out of store racks back in the day. This one displays as well as it would have back in the 1980s, with just some minor typical imperfections consistent with any poster purchased at that time.
