With the NHL taking a two-week break and releasing its players to their National teams, it was Canada’s greatest hope for Olympic Hockey Gold since their 1952 championship, 36 years in the past. Despite putting together a star-studded roster of superstars, they could not overcome Dominik Hasek’s semi-final mastery, and Canada would have to wait another four years for Olympic redemption.
