The peasant boy adopts a young bull as a pet rearing it till maturity and then striving to protect the bull from death in the arena. Interesting to note is the large Academy Award winner notice with a wonderful picture of the Oscar. Because of the anti-communist black list in Hollywood, the Director, Dalton Trumbo had to wait until 1975 to collect the Best Story Oscar he won (under the pseudonym of Robert Rich.)
