To this day, I watch horror films and listen to heavy metal, both of which have now become embraced in a society obsessed with evil and death. Even when I first viewedTHEOMENas a kid, I understood that we weren’t meant to fear Damien so much as we were supposed to see ourselves in him. Perhaps that wish was fulfilled? It was fun trying to capture this in my poster design for Mondo. I wanted to maketheposter look like it could have come out in 1976 whenthefilm was released, with a simple layout that carriedtheviewer’s eye and with colors that evokethegloomy feeling inthefilm.
