Late August, warm summer eve, the team is still in the race, and the stands are packed. Does life get any better than this? It is Tuesday, August 28, 2001, and with Chicago trailing Houston by only 3 games, the North Side is rockin’. With the likes of Fred McGriff, Todd Hundley, Kevin Tapani, Delino DeShields, Ricky Guttierez, Bill Mueller and Sammy Sosa on the historic pitch, the hometown boys battled gamely throughout the night. Of course, in true Cubbies fashion, the team waited an excruciating 14 innings before dropping the ball (literally) and losing to the Florida Marlins, 4-3.

The pennant race of 2001 didn’t last much longer than that night for the Cubs, but with this poster you are transported back to an evening when everyone in the park got their money’s worth and more.
